REBRANDING AGENCY MELBOURNE
xCreative™ rebrands businesses that have outgrown their identity. When APAA evolved in 2025, we kept the tangram its members knew, rebuilt everything around it and shipped a new gradient, four animated marks and a new website. That is the shape of a rebrand done right: growth you can see, recognition you keep. A rebrand usually starts with the logo and sometimes the name itself.
Rebranding is surgery on a living business. Customers, signage, staff and search rankings all have to survive the operation. We plan for all four, which is why our rebrands read as confidence rather than crisis.
Rebranding
New identity, kept equity, managed transition.
01
When to Rebrand
The honest triggers: the market moved, the business outgrew the name, a merger, or a mark so dated it costs credibility. We will also tell you when NOT to rebrand, because sometimes the brand is fine and the website is the actual problem.
02
Keeping the Equity
Twenty years of recognition is an asset, not an obstacle. APAA kept its tangram geometry. Refreshes keep the anchor customers recognise and replace everything holding the brand back. Regulars should feel the business got better, not that it changed hands.
03
Repositioning
Sometimes the look is fine and the story is wrong. We rework positioning and messaging so the brand sells what the business actually does now, then adjust the visuals only as far as the new story requires.
04
Rebrand Rollout
Signage, stationery, uniforms, templates, print and digital, sequenced so the change lands everywhere in the right order. A rebrand that dribbles out over a year confuses more than it converts.
05
Search & Digital Migration
The step most rebrands botch. Renames and domain changes torch Google rankings unless every URL is mapped and redirected. Our SEO team migrates the equity properly, which is the part of the rebrand nobody sees and everybody depends on.
06
Announcing the Change
The story told to customers, staff and the market: why now, what stays, what improves. In both languages where your audience needs it, through our bilingual team.
How we work
Four steps, one team, no handovers.
01
Audit
What the current brand owns in customers’ heads, what it costs you, and what must survive the change.
02
Redesign
Identity rebuilt around the kept equity, tested against the applications that matter in your trade.
04
Launch
One coordinated switch with the announcement, the new website and the collateral landing together.
Why xCreative
Why rebrand with us.
Rebranding exposes whether an agency understands business or just design. Pretty is easy. Keeping the phone ringing while the sign changes is the actual brief. Our rebrands are planned backwards from the risks: customer confusion, search traffic, tender credibility, staff buy-in. The design is the visible tenth of the work.
FAQ
Questions clients ask us.
01
Will we lose customers?
Not if the equity is kept and the story is told. Customers leave when a rebrand looks like new owners or hides a problem. A confident, explained change does the opposite.
02
Will the rebrand hurt our Google rankings?
Only if the digital migration is sloppy. Done properly, with every URL mapped and redirected, rankings usually recover within weeks and often improve, because the rebuild fixes old technical debt.
03
How long does a rebrand take?
Eight to sixteen weeks depending on scale: identity first, then rollout. The launch date drives the plan, so tell us yours early.
04
What does a rebrand cost?
Depends on how much must change and how much must be reprinted, rebuilt and re-signed. We scope the whole transition, not just the logo, so the number you approve is the real one.
