SIGNAGE DESIGN MELBOURNE
xCreative™ designs signage that works at the distances signs actually get read: shopfronts, hoardings, site boards, wayfinding and vehicle fleets, designed and production managed from our Chadstone studio. Vehicle wraps and fleet work sit with our automotive branding service.
A sign is the one piece of marketing your business pays for once and runs every hour it exists. Most are designed on screen, at arm’s length, and fail at forty metres. We design at the distance, in the environment, for the glance.
Signage
Shopfronts, hoardings and wayfinding designed for the glance, not the slide.
01
Shopfront & Retail
OTTO MOTORS wears a high-visibility orange-red picked specifically to jump off a busy Ferntree Gully road, and TEA BAG‘s character face pulls customers off the strip daily. Shopfront signage is a three-second sales pitch, and colour does most of the talking.
02
Development Hoardings
A construction fence is a billboard the project already owns. Our development campaigns treat hoardings as the first display suite: project identity, hero renders and a register call-to-action, weatherproofed and readable from a moving car.
03
Site & Builder Boards
Builders like Everkeen and First Construction carry their marks on every site they run. A consistent site board program turns each job into local advertising, which in construction is where the referrals start.
04
Wayfinding & Interior
Room signage, directories and environmental graphics, like the penguin-illustrated interiors at Little Penguin. Good wayfinding is invisible: nobody gets lost, nobody thinks about why.
05
Vehicle Wraps & Fleet
Utes, vans and trailers wrapped as moving billboards, with artwork built to the actual vehicle model so the design survives the door handles. Fleet consistency does quiet work for a brand every day it drives.
06
Production & Permits
Materials, fabrication and installation coordinated through our print management, with artwork prepared to your signmaker’s and landlord’s specifications, because a beautiful sign that fails the centre’s guidelines never gets hung.
How we work
Four steps, one team, no handovers.
01
Site & Distance
Where the sign lives, who passes it, how fast. Reading distance decides the design before any drawing starts.
02
Design
Concepts shown in place, on photos of your actual building or fence, at true scale.
03
Fabricate
Specifications, materials and production run with signmakers we trust at trade pace.
04
Install & Extend
Installed, photographed and documented in your guidelines, so the second location matches the first.
Why xCreative
Why the signs pull.
Signage is where brands meet physics: sun fade, viewing angles, council rules and the speed of passing traffic. We design inside those constraints because we manage the production too, so the concept you approve is one that can actually be built, hung and read. Signage designed by people who have never talked to a fabricator is how strips end up beige.
FAQ
Questions clients ask us.
01
Do you handle council and landlord approvals?
We prepare artwork and documentation to their specifications and work with your signmaker through the approval, which saves the redesign-after-rejection loop that stalls most signage jobs.
02
Can you redesign one sign to match our brand?
Yes. Send the guidelines and the site photo. If you have no guidelines, we will extract the rules from what exists and tighten as we go.
03
LED, lightbox or flat?
Depends on the strip, the budget and the hours you trade. We will recommend based on where the sign must win, not on what is most expensive to make.
04
What does signage design cost?
A single shopfront and a fleet program are different jobs. Send the site and the ambition and we will quote design and production separately, so you see where the money goes.
