LOGO DESIGN MELBOURNE
xCreative™ has designed logos for more than 200 Australian businesses since 2016. Sinovation hides its initials inside a hatching bird. Tony Deng & Co navigates by the Southern Cross. First Construction folds F and C into the shape of a house. If the whole identity needs a refresh, start at our rebranding service.
Every mark we draw has a reading behind it, because a logo without an idea is just a font choice. This page shows how we work at the logo level. For the full identity system around it, see our branding service.
Logo Design
Marks with a reading behind them, built to survive real-world use.
01
Symbols & Stories
Sinovation‘s nest, cracked egg and fledgling read three ways at once, and the bird’s head spells SV. Acquire‘s arrows form a cross of strategy and growth. A symbol earns its place when the client can explain it to a stranger in one sentence.
03
Wordmarks & Typography
Sometimes the strongest logo is the name set perfectly. BEKL and Altus Homes run typographic marks with no symbol at all, and both hold a room. Restraint is a legitimate design decision, not a shortcut.
04
Mascots & Characters
TEA BAG‘s cartoon character and Little Penguin‘s mascot sell daily from shopfronts and school bags. Characters work where warmth converts, and we draw them in-house rather than licensing someone else’s.
05
Redraws & Modernisation
An old logo with twenty years of goodwill deserves surgery, not replacement. We redraw ageing marks cleanly, fix the typography and keep the recognition, the way APAA kept its tangram through a full rebrand.
06
Files & Guidelines
You receive every format a printer, signwriter or developer will ever ask for, plus plain-language rules for colour, spacing and misuse. You own all of it. A logo you cannot use everywhere was never finished.
How we work
Four steps, one team, no handovers.
01
Brief
What the business does, who chooses it and where the mark must live. Ten minutes on a ute door changes a logo brief.
02
Concepts
Two or three genuinely different directions with the thinking explained, shown in real contexts rather than on white slides.
Why xCreative
Why the marks hold up.
A logo from this studio is designed by the same team that will put it on your brochure, your website and your signage, so it gets tested against real use before you ever see it. Marks that only work at one size or on one background do not survive our own production floor, which is precisely the point of having one.
The portfolio carries the argument: 63 published case studies, each with its mark explained. Browse them and notice how often the logo idea comes from the business itself, its name, its trade or its site. That is the method, and it is why the logos age well.
FAQ
Questions clients ask us.
01
How many concepts do we see?
Two or three real directions, not ten variations of one idea padded out. Each comes with its reasoning, because you are choosing a strategy, not picking a favourite shape.
02
Do we own the logo outright?
Yes. Full ownership, all files, no licensing catches. We keep the right to show the work in our portfolio and nothing more.
03
Do you check trademark availability?
We run preliminary screening and flag risks before you commit, and we work alongside your IP lawyer for formal registration when the name or mark warrants it.
04
What does a logo cost?
A standalone mark costs less than a full identity system, and both are quoted per job. Tell us what the logo needs to do and the quote will be specific.
